Brad Smith

Brad Smith of Detroit, Michigan, drives in the ARCA series. ARCA is the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA), an auto racing sanctioning body in the United States, racing stock cars similar to those seen in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (indeed most cars used in the RE/MAX Series were previously used in NASCAR). Walt Forster

Walt Forster of Jefferson City, Indiana, drives in several different competitive series including NHRA, Lucas Oil and United Association. He currently is running a ’92 Cutlass –and it’s definitely one of the coolest looking race vehicles in our development program. Click here to see events Walt may be running in this year.

Scotty Orme

Scotty Orme, of Central, Indiana, competes in the MRA (United Midget Racing Association) series and hopes to win Tony Stewart Rookie of the year award. Founded in 1953 as a Mid-west based stock car racing series, ARCA has grown over the past five and a half decades to the most diverse nationally touring stock car series.





  • Racing began soon after the construction of the first successful gasoline-fueled automobiles. The first race ever organized was on April 28, 1887 by the chief editor of Paris publication Le Vélocipède, Monsieur Fossier. It ran 2 kilometers from Neuilly Bridge to the Bois de Boulogne. It was won by Georges Bouton, in a car he had constructed with Albert, the Comte de Dion, but as he was the only competitor to show up it is rather difficult to call it a race.

"Today races are won with what you bring to the track. You have to unload -- when you pull that gun out of that trailer, that thing has got to be loaded with some heavy firing ammunition and it's got to be ready to go. And if it's not, you can't fix it at the racetrack anymore."

·      ARCA’s association with NASCAR predates the sanctioning body itself. ARCA’s founder, John Marcum, raced against, and later worked as an official for Bill France, Sr., who founded NASCAR in 1949.
