Weekend of Appliance Zone Racing Includes a Win
CORYDON, IN (June 7, 2011) - Appliance Zone Racing was in action at several venues across the nation this past weekend. Chris Wall competed in three Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events over the weekend driving the #71 ApplianceZone.com entry. On Thursday, Chris was at Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, TN for a 50-lap $10,000 to win event. Chris had to use a provisional starting spot to make the feature event and started 24th, the last car on the grid, but managed to advance forward and come home 13th in the final rundown. On Friday, Chris competed at the notoriously fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, TN for another 50-lap $10,000 to win feature event. Chris started 19th in the feature and would finish 12th. To finish off the week, Chris and the Appliance Zone Racing Team traveled to Florence Speedway in Union, KY to compete in another 50-lap $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event. Chris would get caught up in several wrecks but still managed to finish the event in the 13th place.
ApplianceZone.com also was also displaying their colors and logo on the #44 of four-time series champion Earl Pearson Jr. for this past weekend’s event at Florence Speedway. Earl would have to use a provisional starting spot to make the feature event, starting 24th and driving close to the front to finish in the fifth position at the checkers. Earl drives the Bobby Labonte-owned dirt late model racecar and is currently sixth in the national points standings. Appliance Zone Racing was also in competition at the NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown, NJ. Hector Arana Sr. and Hector Arana Jr. both competed in the Pro Stock Motorcycle division. Hector Sr. would qualify fourth overall in the division, while Hector Jr. qualified 12th overall out of 21 competitors. Both Hector Sr. and Hector Jr. would lose in the first round of eliminations and load up early. A slip of the hand cost the elder Arana in his race against Jim Underdahl when he accidentally grabbed the clutch lever as he was reaching for the handlebar. In a race with Andrew Hines, Arana Jr. came out a bit off-center at the hit, which allowed his opponent to move ahead while he was trying to pull his bike back on a straight track. Appliance Zone Racing Diesel Truck Puller Louis Touchette in his “Highly Contagious” Dodge Truck competed this past weekend in Heltonville, IN at the Hillbilly Truck Pulls. Louis would pull 300ft in the 2.6 diesel truck class and won first place in his division.
